UPDATE: Final version is released: Scrambled Albums (Zune Game) Final Release.
I’m almost done with my new game Scrambled Albums and decided to release what I have now as a beta while I finish up the rest. Scrambled Albums is your basic sliding puzzle. The fun comes in that the puzzles are generated from the album art on your Zune.

As a beta let me explain what features it has and what it’s going to get later.
In The Beta:
- Customizable background color
- Customizable puzzle size (3×3 up to 10×10)
- Background color and puzzle size save as settings so they persist between play sessions
- Puzzles generated by randomly picking album art from the Zune
Coming Soon:
- Full music browser featuring artists, albums, songs, playlists, and genres (the menu option is there, but it’s not implemented yet)
So let’s cover the basic how-to-play stuff here:
Menus all use the DPad exclusively. This is by design because the touch pad is a little finicky at times. You use up/down on the DPad to go through the options and left/right on the DPad to change the selected item’s options (for background color and puzzle size). Sliding tiles can be done using either the DPad or by flicking in the direction you want to move. While in the game you can press Back to return to the main menu. That’s pretty much it :).
I hope you like playing this game as much as I liked making it. Only took my about six hours yesterday to get where I am right now so I’m pretty proud of it. If you are going to make a video or mod of this game, please directly link back to my blog post and give me credit with making it.
That all out of the way, here’s your download: Scrambled Albums Beta
If you like Scrambled Albums or Alien Aggressors and want to help me make more games, please consider donating to help with the costs of web hosting and so I can allocate more time to making games for your enjoyment.
Hey Nick,
I was wondering if you could make a version of “Qix” for the Zune. Heres is a link where you can play the game online http://drunkmenworkhere.org/201.php?action=play
Also, i was wondering if you and i would like to create Zune Games together.
Thanks,
Lars Havekost
Is there any chance that you could make it play songs from the album that you’re using as a puzzle while you play? That would be really neat!
